2nd Annual

Calgary Underground Film Festival

April 14 - 16, 2005

The Calgary Underground Film Festival (CUFF) is a fresh new festival committed to the celebration of alternative vision showcasing independent, provocative and experimental films and videos. The festival will feature works that defy convention in form, style, and content by screening a wide spectrum of contemporary works in a variety of categories: feature, documentary, animation, short, and experimental.

  Another Year Completed!

The second run of CUFF was a great success with over 600 people attending screenings and events. Filmmakers Simon Sauvé, Caelum Vantsdal, and Professor University of One Tiny Whale were great additions to CUFF screenings, answering questions and providing insights.

Again, a big thank you goes to The Calgary Region Arts Foundation (CRAF), Broken City, EMMEDIA, FFWD, REwind Video Online, Exclaim!, CJSW, McNally Robinson Booksellers, Casablanca, Birddog Alternative Video, AK Signs, and Bushido. More sponsor info.

A special thank you also goes out to the team of volunteers who assisted us - from picking up filmmakers at the airport, to selling tickets at the door - you guys rocked! Without the involvement and support of so many individuals and businesses within our community CUFF would not have succeeded.
