CUFF 2006

Announcing the Line Up for CUFF 2006!

CUFF has an exciting program of Calgary premieres and award winning films in its 2006 program, running April 19-22! We’ve expanded to four days and three venues, including Broken City, the HiFi Club and the Uptown Theatre - not to mention an after party at Tubby Dog! It’s our third year and we continue to be an indie extravaganza!

Ten feature films and over 30 short films have been chosen, covering topics such as mad cow disease, virginity for sale on eBay, and the story of the ultimate film geek. In addition, the festival's selection of shorts will feature 5 world premieres by Alberta filmmakers.

Many of the selected films have previously screened at the Cannes Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival, South by Southwest Film Festival, and numerous other indie, horror and documentary festivals

Wednesday April 19 - HiFi Club

Join us for our opening night atthe HiFi Club, located at 219-10 Avenue SW, Calgary. Full Program

Opening with AKA Tommy Chong, followed by the Hungarian animated feature The District! (Nyócker!). Our late feature is followed by DJ's C' est Dangereux, Chris B & The Robot Boy.

Thursday April 20 - Broken City

Broken City is located at 613 - 11 Avenue SW, Calgary. Full Program

Featuring Exiles in Lotusland and The Puffy Chair. Our late feature will be followed by local vocalist and performer Kara Keith.

Friday April 21 - Two Venues: Broken City and The Uptown Stage & Screen

THE UPTOWN is Located at 612 – 8 Avenue SW, Calgary. Full Program

Join us at the start of our evening for Buy it Now - virginity for sale on eBay - at Broken City. Then hoof it over to The Uptown for Saint Martyrs of the Damned, followed by a midnight screening of Mad Cowgirl.
Tubby Dog is the host of our afterparty - no charge! Bring your ticket stubs for discounts!

Don't miss some of the weirdest and most satisfying shorts around at our 2PM and 4:30 PM screenings. Our final evening kicks off with the ulitmate Film Geek, followed by your worse Nightmare. Following our late screening, join us for our closing party at Broken City featuring DJ Marco and Gary Powers!
