Confessions Of A Good Samaritan
United States, 2023: 105 minutes: Alberta Premieredescription
Director Penny Lane (CUFF 2016 selection NUTS! and CUFF 2019 Best Documentary Feature HAIL SATAN?) decides to become a "Good Samaritan" by giving one of her kidneys to a stranger.
Taking unexpected turns, Lane uses humour to interrogate why everyone seems to think she’s crazy, in her personal quest to understand the nature of altruism. CONFESSIONS OF A GOOD SAMARITAN is a provocative inquiry into the science, history and ethics of organ transplantation, asking an ancient question in a whole new way: who is your neighbour, and what do you owe them?
