A Shit Day
Canada, 2023: 91 minutes: Calgary Premieredescription
Drowning under the abuses of her narcissist ex-husband and condescending boss at the lottery company where she works, a single young mother is having an absurdly shit day.
On the brink of a mental breakdown, Maude is sent to the middle of nowhere Quebec to interview a strange hermit who just won the jackpot. Dealing with an uncooperative man that does not want to speak about his recent winnings, a boss that won't take no for an answer, an angsty teenage son who is tagging along for the drive, and a relentless ex is all just too much. When she accidentally rams her car into a tree, Maude is pushed over the edge in a spectacular fashion, trigging a series of events that there's no turning back from. The French-Canadian dark comedy is the feature directorial debut of CUFF alum Kevin T. Landry (NIGHT CROSSER, winner of the CUFF 2018 Best Canadian Short Award).
