This is a FREE event, open to the public, and a great opportunity to experience a film in the early stages of development. There will be a Q&A following the reading and the production team is open to script feedback.
SYNOPSIS
After a road rage incident with a pickup truck, a disgruntled writer finds his actions hailed as heroic. Unleashing a violent wave of anti-truck sentiment, the writer must confront the disturbing new reality that he has inspired. MAN VS. TRUCK is a satirical dark comedy that explores the divisiveness and rage fueling contemporary political discourse.

SCREENWRITER & DIRECTOR
Ted Stenson is a filmmaker based in Calgary, Alberta. His first feature film EVENTS TRANSPIRING BEFORE, DURING, AND AFTER A HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL GAME was produced through the Telefilm Talent-to-Watch, and was also showcased at CUFF’s 2019 Live Script Reading event. Premiering at Vancouver International Film Festival in 2020 and screening at over 15 festivals in North America, the film won several awards, including the Reel Canadian Indie award at the Canadian Film Festival and Best Long Form Narrative at the 2023 Stinger Awards. In 2022, Ted wrote and directed LIVING WITHOUT MENACE (CUFF.Docs 2022), a documentary about the Alberta Rat Patrol that is currently available on CBC Gem. His most recent film, INSTANT ANIMATION, about internationally-renowned 'cameraless' animator Richard Reeves, premiered at the GIRAF Animation Festival in 2024 and is currently touring the festival circuit.
