A quantum physicist develops a machine that creates a tunnel to a subatomic parallel universe.

In his quest to prove his machine's efficacy, quantum scientist Sam (Johnny Whitworth) inadvertently discovers an unorthodox cancer treatment when transporting lab rats interdimensionally. He now recruits human subjects, starting with cancer patient Donna (Dana Namerode), to legitimize his efforts. From multi-time CUFF alumnus Calvin Lee Reeder (2023 Selection HARBOR ISLAND, 2019 Selection THE PROCEDURE 2, 2016 Selection THE PROCEDURE, and 2013 Selection THE RAMBLER), Reeder's latest is a character-based drama with both sci-fi and horror elements. Having its World Premiere in the Midnight Section at Tribeca Festival 2024 and playing major genre festivals like Fantasia International Film Festival and Screamfest Horror Film Festival, THE A-FRAME demonstrates high-concept genre filmmaking on a shoestring budget with a nasty sense of humour.

DIRECTOR'S BIO
Calvin Lee Reeder is a writer, director, and occasional actor known for his inventive and unconventional work. His films have won awards at Sundance, SXSW, AFI, Fantastic Fest, and others. A multi-time festival alumnus, CUFF has played three of Reeder's shorts, HARBOR ISLAND (2023), THE PROCEDURE 2 (2019), and THE PROCEDURE (2016), and his first feature THE RAMBLER (2013). He is a fellow of the Sundance Episodic Story Lab and began making films while employed as a construction worker in Seattle.
